Carnage: A Dark Revenge Romance

by Shantel Tessier (Author)
4.5

An all-new dark standalone romance from the USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Shantel Tessier. Carnage is based in the Lords' world and can be read as a standalone. A PUPPET The men in the secret society known as the Lords think they rule the world. And in a way, they do. Each has sold their soul to the devil at a young age in exchange for power and wealth. Like anything else, they have different levels of success. The more they’re willing to serve, the more power they have. Among them are the Spade brothers, who run Carnage. It’s where the Lords who have not held up their oath go to live out the rest of their lives in shackles. Tucked away from the world as if they never existed. I VOW. YOU VOW. WE VOW. I once belonged to a Lord—Saint Beckham Carter. Although nothing was holy about him, I still kneeled as if he could grant me eternity in a world where only evil existed. At the time, I willingly vowed to be his and allowed him to share me with his “brothers.” But things changed. And what I thought couldn’t get any better got exceptionally worse. So I did the only thing I could and ran from him, knowing I could never return. Now he’s found me and dragged me back to his hell, where he will make me his pet. The world already thinks I’m dead, so no one will miss me. And I’m just another name on a long list of those who will never know freedom. What he doesn’t know is why I ran from him in the first place. A Lord doesn’t listen to reason, so it’s not like he’d care anyway. Saint was born a Lord, and he will die as one. If life has taught me anything, it’s that we all pay for our sins. And Saint will never let me forget that my place is at Carnage, serving him on my knees until death is granted. Things to know about Carnage This is not an RH Secret society MF J/P (jealous/possessive) Hero OTT (over the top) Hero Can be read as a standalone Told in dual POV TWs listed inside the book

    Why You'll Love This

First off, this book was like crack for me. I was over the moon when I found out I had gotten an early copy. I couldn't get over how glued to it I was and how quickly I finished it. I devoured. And honestly, I loved it. But man, am I feeling the hangover! Thinking about moving on to another book feels like contemplating cheating on my nonexistant significant other. It makes me feel vulnerable and exposed emotionally, like I don't know how to act or feel. And I don't know if I like that or not, but CHEERS! The way she pulled all of the other books' characters into this one while still giving us a new story really just felt both incredibly nostalgic while also exciting to get new pieces of an already started puzzle. This was an intense and WILD ride...truly a ROLLERCOASTER of emotions were experienced while reading this and I loved every second of it. Absolutely loved Saint's possessive/obsessiveness with Ashtyn...it's what I live for in these types of books. And her addiction to him in equal measure is the toxic perfection I needed. It was giving Sin/Ellie and I went feral for them. Ashtyn on her own I didn't really care too much about as a character...she just didn't give me much to latch onto. But she served her "damsel" role well. She got put through some STUFF in this book, good night! Out of the other two Spade brothers, Haidyn and Kashton, I definitely found myself favoring Haidyn more for sure. I really hope his book is next, because he sure does have some 'splainin' to do! And speaking of explanations...I still have several questions that I really hope are gonna get answered in the next book! She's got me out here combing through all the books for hair/eye color combos trying to figure out who unnamed people are and I'm feeling a little unhinged... The twists and turns in this one just kept me constantly in a state of "WTF mate?!". Kinda cracked me up that it felt like Saint was legit out of the loop the majority of the time and had no idea what was going on right under his nose. Poor guy. Still love him though. The ending was wiiiild and my jaw was on the floor when my mind starting finally wrapping around what I was reading and the pieces were starting to come together. I thought the pacing was done well. I honestly didn't feel a lull in the timing of things at all. And I thought the placement of spice points was appropriate and just the right amount. Things were hot and dark though, so please mind those triggers and don't even attempt to read this if you haven't liked the other books in this world. This book had just the right amount of balance, in my opinion. But I will say, I kinda wish she had just made this into a why-choose, but I guess I can see why she didn't considering the premise of the world and all. Definitely looking forward to seeing where she takes things in the other two brothers' books. The connections made to her Dark Kingdom world in this one now has me racing to go wolf those down. Something tells me there's another book coming in that series soon too... 1000000% recommend this with my whole entire chest. And while technically it is a standalone...you're kinda doing yourself a disservice by not reading the others in the series prior to this. The build-up they provide is just *chef's kiss* and makes the anticipation of the next one that much sweeter. Enjoy and happy reading!

Shantell Tessier's "Carnage" is an electrifying tale that deserves nothing less than a five-star rating. In this compelling narrative, we are thrust into a shadowy world where the secret society known as the Lords holds dominion, having exchanged their souls for power and riches at a tender age. At the epicenter of this sinister tale are the enigmatic Spade brothers, custodians of Carnage, a place where disobedient Lords are consigned to spend the rest of their days in captivity, hidden from the world's gaze. The binding vow of "I VOW. YOU VOW. WE VOW." sets the stage for an unforgettable story filled with shocking revelations and unforeseen twists. Narrated from the perspectives of two characters, Saint and Ashtyn, "Carnage" unravels the depths of their devotion and the darkness of their desires. Ashtyn, a woman far from saintly herself, willingly submitted to a life immersed in malevolence at the hands of Saint Beckham Carter. However, the plot takes a dark turn, leading Ashtyn to make a desperate escape, aware that she can never return. Fate, however, has other designs as Saint hunts Ashtyn down relentlessly, dragging her back into his harrowing world, where she is destined to become his possession. In a world where her existence is believed to be extinguished, she becomes another anonymous name on a seemingly endless list of those denied freedom. Hidden within the shadows is the secret behind Ashtyn's desperate escape. In a world where reason holds no sway over Lords, her past may offer little defense. Saint, born and bound to be a Lord, remains unwavering in his pursuits. "Carnage" delves deep into the consequences of their sins, leaving redemption as a distant aspiration. This dark romance is an exploration of a world where power and submission intertwine, captivating readers with its emotions and intricacies. For those ready to immerse themselves in a world of secrets, desires, and redemption, "Carnage" is an undeniable masterpiece that warrants a five-star rating. The characters are vividly portrayed, the plot is expertly constructed, and the emotions run deep, making it a must-read for fans of dark romance and suspense. This standalone narrative, told from dual perspectives, features a possessive hero and an over-the-top narrative that pushes the boundaries of traditional romance. "Carnage" is a darkly riveting masterpiece that promises an unforgettable journey into a world where darkness and power reign supreme.

Carnage By: Shantel Tessier There are a number of things that one can say about Carnage. This book had solid story lines, yes, lines with an (s) because there were several story lines going on throughout this book, each story line was connected to the other and the connections were strong! They grew which gave the characters many openings to grow and in some cases to show how we think we know everything about them, but in reality we know very little until all is revealed at the end. This is what I look for in a book a solid story line that can take you on a journey and in the end you may agree with all that has happened or you may not, but your journey has been one of reading and watching each character. Readers find out the difference between the LORDS and being a LORD and a SPADE BROTHER……BIG DIFFERENCE! One of the things that drew me into Carnage was the romance, the love story between Saint and Ashtyn. I know it’s a dark romance, but frankly sometimes a strong romance can make the dark fade and bring the entire story to the forefront. In Carnage, the author managed to not just let the “dark” have it’s way, but in many cases she ripped the bandage off and reminded readers that this isn’t just one story it is the culmination of several and the crossing over of others. That is the next thing that puts my review at a 5 star level. For long time readers it was exciting to see old friends. I love that in a book, when you need answers you may have to walk back a series or two. I knew from the beginning that this was going to be like a hunt, when I read this line in Chapter Two “Let’s just say one day I might need a favor.” I had a gut feeling what we readers were working towards….and DAMN it was very rewarding when it was over! A strong storyline and strong characters made this a 5 star read for me. It is important that before you start reading you read the trigger warnings found inside the book.

The Sinner is probably still my favourite but this is a very very close second! What I really loved was Saint’s love of Ash. Similar to Sin’s with Elli. It came from pure obsession from growing up together and he really did seem to love her (sometimes in his own messed up way!) In terms of triggers, this one is probably as dark as The Sacrifice, but nothing will touch the themes of The Sinner! Which may be for the best! 😭😭 I loved how the whole LORDs world is really coming together, with the other couples getting quite involved in this book, especially the guys for LORD work. And just lots of crossovers from previous books that I won’t spoil! Lots of good spice in this book as well! Favourite bit was probably the strip club private room scene 🥵🥵🫠🫠 And really excited to see where the series goes! There’s loads of potential already with a love interest for Kash! And curious about Haidyn. My theory is he will fall in love with a therapist and turn her crazy, Harley Quinn style, especially with the foreshadowing of Ash’s HQ outfit at the start of part 2! That would be a fun plot! Plus I want a future series of the little LORDs! Tinsley is already my favourite of the kids, and she seems like a badass! Bring on their own books 😁😁

Omg, reading this had be going to hell and back riding on a pony shouting yeahhhhhhh baby. Brilliant, couldn’t put it down. From the 1st chapter you’re in and that’s you forever! Your heart will always belong to Carnage! Saint is spot on, and at time I hated him, but then he came saved Ash, he made this better! Now Ash, that girl is stronger than a sack of spuds on a wet day. She knew she would have to go the distance, and she did! I love the brothers, they are perfect. Now this will be the darkest out of the Lords….even if this can be read as a stand alone. It will take you to dark places and show a tiny bit of light, only for the lights to go out….with a bang! So PLEASE READ THE TW!!!! Over all I bloody loved it! Saint will be your new BBF! The plot twist, drama, flaps flapping, and 3 hunks to help a girl out in need (a lot of need!) then yes please! Also it does say it is not a RH, but I think it was board line….just board line though! Doesn’t change how the story was for me. Does answer so questions from the 3 lord books….wow this story was yearssssssssss in the making! I would say read Lords first. Ok I’m going to take a shower for about an hour! Peace out sweetheart🧡😈 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 😈😈😈😈😈 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 💯💯💯💯💯
