Dark Planet Warriors

by Anna Carven (Author)
4.4

Book 1 of the Dark Planet Warriors Series Abbey Some scary looking aliens have just boarded Fortuna Tau, our little asteroid mining station. Kordolians, by the looks of things. What the hell do they want with this floating rust bucket? What are they even doing here? Come to think of it, I've never seen a Kordolian up close before. They're huge and intimidating, with strange silver skin and pointed ears. They have freaky nano-armor, and they're packing a serious arsenal. We Humans stand no chance against them. When I encounter their General, I find him insufferable. Arrogant. Domineering. He won't tell me anything. I guess that's what happens when your race is kicking ass across the Nine Galaxies. You get pigheaded. So why do I keep running into him? Why does he keep looking at me like that? And what's with this weird feeling I get when he's around? I really hope these guys fix their ship and go away soon, because I get the feeling they could be major trouble. Tarak Sucked into a wormhole during a fierce skirmish with an enemy ship. Spat out near a human mining station in a remote corner of the Nine Galaxies. Stuck with weak Humans who operate with inferior metals and technology. This mission couldn't get any worse. We need to fix our craft, kill the cursed Xargek, and get out of here before the wormhole collapses. I don't really care about these humans. Their existence makes no sense to me. So why has this strange human female captured my attention? She's messy and awkward, and she babbles nonsense half the time. These humans are crazy. I don't understand them at all, especially this female. Why do I keep coming back to her? I need to leave this place before I go insane. Warning: This book contains swearing, violence and steamy sex scenes. It's recommended for readers aged 18 and over.

I was looking for something to read while waiting on my next Laurann Dohner and Grace Goodwin novels and found Anna Carven and like...Wow! New favorite author! Literally devoured all the Dark Planet Warriors books in two weeks and then followed that up by reading all of her Darkstar Mercenaries series, which is a continuation of Dark Planet Warriors. Her books are addictive and the plot of the first novel involving Tarak and Abbey continues forward throughout all the books like a good, old-fashioned, sci-fi TV series, hence why you really need to read them in order because one story enlightens and develops the next story and the over-arching theme of good Kordolians versus bad Kordolians, evil Empire battling the new Earth-pro order led by Tarak. While each book has its main romance couple, Tarak is a recurrent character along with the other Kordolian-human couples. You also get a total of 3 novels totally centered around Tarak and Abbey. I am so interested to see who Zharek ends up with (he's introduced in book 8 of the Dark Planet Warriors series) and plays an important role in the Darkstar series. In fact, I liked all of them so much, I went and bought all the books in paperback after buying them on Kindle, so I can have them on my bookshelf as well. I'm not going to spoil the stories by giving you details about the plot of this book or any of the others, but here are a few general things I like about Anna's Dark Planet Warriors series...Most alien-human romance stories tend of have a dark view of Earth and the Earth is always depleted and decaying or outright dying and corrupt and everyone wants to escape and not return, but in Anna's world, the Earth is seen as truly a hidden oasis of beauty in the harsh, often cold expanse of space due to its bio-diversity and crazy, but creative and unique humans with their quirks like music and art and good food, etc. In short, a place to be coveted and protected at all costs even when we human's take it for granted. I liked that aspect because our Earth is an amazing place with all its beautiful forests and jungles, seas teaming with life, variety of plants and animals, different climates and beautiful, brilliant sun. In fact Anna's series made me see the Earth through even more appreciative eyes and made me want to do even more to help protect and conserve its natural resources. Most alien-human romances typically involve more sexy, than romance, but Anna strikes a great balance between the two. Also, the human heroines in Anna's Dark Planet Warriors and Darkstar Merc series are never treated like slaves or as "less than" by their alien heroes, which is often how human-alien romance stories start off. Anna's books are a refreshing difference to this type of dark romance trope, which can sometimes be too Stockholm Syndrome-like for these relationships to be completely comfortable reading. So, if you like a little more romance with your sexy between the hero and heroine, then Dark Planet Warriors and Darkstar Mercenaries are perfect for you! To compare to other authors...If you like Laurann Dohner you're going love Anna Carven! If you like Grace Goodwin you'll love Anna Carven even more!

Really enjoyed this book and how it all pulled together. Steamy scenes. Decent plot. Not too long of a book.

Great alien romance with warrior guys the author likens to silvery elves. Steamy, quick read. World building is good with set up for more in the series.

Omg what an amazing read this book was. I was totally blown away and just couldn't put it down. Their was action from the very start and was a non-stop thrill ride to the very end. The story was captivating, imformative with characters back stories provided giving a more in depth feel to who they really are. What I thought was just going to be a space station sci-fi story turned into so much more leaving me pleasantly surprised and hooked on the series. We start off this story with a Kordolian battle cruiser filled with silver skinned, fanged, tall, muscular male warriors known as Kordolians from the dark planet Kythia. They dock on an earth space mining station called Fortuna Tau to seek help with the repairs to their damaged ship the Silence. Their race is an aggressive one, they conquer without remorse taking whatever they need in the name of their empire race so when they force themselves into the station they are met with some resistance. Misunderstandings take place and the leader of the Kordolian army General Tarak demands to speak to the leader of the space station. On his way to see the male in charge he comes across a female, a short, sweet smelling, brown haired, hazel eyed bio-scientist named Abbey and from that moment their lives are irrecoverably altered and joined together. And oh boy were they joined together, their chemistry was off the charts, absolutely perfect for each other. The Generals desire, obsession and possessiveness towards Abbey was so freaking HOT!!! He was 100% alpha male and I loved it, he was protective, passionate, possessive, brave and caring towards her and when he set off to seducing her DAMN was he GOOD! Their intimate scenes were panty combusting and cold shower requiring moments, boy oh boy was the General smooth and sexy with a good dose of animal thrown in, Abbey didn't know what hit her when Tarak set his sights on her with an intensity and intent to devour her whole. I am without a doubt addicted to this new series, an official Kordolian warriors worshipper, and can't wait to find out what happens with Tarak and Abbey after reading that delicious epilogue ending which was just AWESOME. I love it when were given a little look into how our main characters are doing after their story and this one made me so happy I was left smiling like a loon. Definitely recommend this book to any sci-fi fans trust me you won't regret it.
