    Why You'll Love This

As i was reading "Kristoff" by Measha Stone my emotions were sitting in my throat.I was conflicted and vacillated between every emotions known. Even though I knew that this book was dark,it still pushed my boundaries. I am in awe of Ms Stone's ability to write such an unbelievable raw and intense story that was both twisted, addictive, visceral, heart breaking and gritty. She created a story that will give you chills down your spine and mess with your head. This is not a particularly comfortable or easy book to read and could cause triggers for some readers. Magdalena is a freelance journalist investigating sex trafficking in London. All she wanted was a few photos of the Dowidoff's house and any information however small.Never did she expect to become one of the girls up for auction herself. Her world turned upside down after she was kidnapped and woke up bound in Andrie Dowidoff's house.Andrie is pure evil and to Magdalena's dismay, she finds out how evil he his.Andrie puts Magdalena's training into Kristoff's hands to ready her to sell at auction. He is a dangerous, with little or no conscience. As hard as he tries to break her,he see the spirit within her. He liked her spunk, it was addictive but foolish, there would be no way out for Magdalena.Much to her horror her body betrayed her and she was aroused by the humiliation at his hands. He sees the fight in her eyes, the inner strength and is intrigued but he has a job to do.His father and his friends undo all his training in one single night,he is furious and they would all pay.The fight has left her completely, she was comfortable left in her own darkness as reality was too painful. I personally did not like Kristoff,I thought he was a one dimensional character but he surprised me in the end.The betrayal by Magdalena's sister was a hard pill to swallow. Despite the darkness,I absolutely loved this book.Magdalena fought for her very essence, i felt her fear, despair and pain time and time again as she was determined to free herself. The author was uncompromising in her depiction of a complicated one sided relationship. I love this series and have become obsessed with each and every book.

Probably not a book for those with triggers! But as I’ve commented in other reviews, I haven’t got any so…I thought this book was rather insightful - a real look at the horrors of human trafficking. It was brutal and painful but, there was a twist. Was pulled off, like a bandaid over an open paper cut. I’m always reluctant to say too much because I do not want to spoil the story. I don’t think a review should be a reader’s synopsis - just an opinion. Anyway, for those without triggers and a quick read, go for it.

KRISTOFF, by author Measha Stone, is a phenomenal piece of writing! It is a dark romance in the most traditional sense, so pay attention to the trigger warnings and the classification: "for readers 18 and over." However, beyond the cruelty, violence and sadism rise two amazing characters, and it is for them and the impossibility of a promised HEA that readers can't leave the novel until the last word is read! While KRISTOFF goes beyond the grey, readers who answer the call of darkness on occasion, should most definitely have KRISTOFF in their romance library. 😉

This is a very intense book but oh so good. Kristoff is not his father’s son and thank goodness for that. He falls in love with Magdalena and she with him against all the odds. Their relationship begins with violence and there are parts of the book that are hard to read but somehow appropriate. There is also betrayal of the worst kind, but there is also justice and kindness and an unusual happy ending. A great read and a great addition to Blaire’s World.

Wowsers, this is one dark story that held my attention from start to finish. There are possible triggers in this, lots of triggers, but if you're ok with non-consent then I really do recommend this novella. Magdalena is such a 'normal' girl you couldn't help but connect with her. She might have been a little bit naive, but only in the same way the vast majority of us would be when it comes to organised crime and sex slavery. I absolutely adored her. Kristoff is a really good antihero, he isn't a good man at all. Thankfully he grows to like our heroine as much as I did, and Kristoff is nothing if not possessive of what he sees as his. I read this in one go, once I'd met this pair I really couldn't put the book down. Even when I had to read it through my fingers there was still something special about the writing that just held me spellbound. The story flows well, with a really easy to read writing style and where both plot and pace were really good. It was perhaps a bit too insta-love for my taste BUT in a book of this length there is always something that has to give. I always worry when an author I like ventures into the dark zone. I'm really picky over what I consider a dark read and dread it in case they don't hit the mark. Thankfully Kristoff completely and utterly hits the target, perhaps almost too well at times! I loved it and really hope Ms Stone writes more books of this ilk.

What a story! Awesome quick read that had that darkness I crave! Kristoff, while not a good man, had a heart, and I couldn't help but fall in love with him. I devoured this, and I'll be reading more from Measha!
